In The Community

West Covina Rose Float foundation

The West Covina Rose Float Foundation is proud to partner with many wonderful individuals, local businesses and national corporations as we reach out to the community to provide the resources and vitality which are the hallmark of our success.

Extending beyond our signature Tournament of Roses Parade float, the Foundation provides mentoring opportunities, hands on experience and vital scholarship programs through collaborations with industry leaders, educational institutions and other local organizations

During the latter part of 2004, the Foundation recognized that there was an opportunity to expand the direction of the Foundation to reach out to the community and use the Rose Float entry as a catalyst to promote other collaborative community projects.

In addition to the float decoration, this would include youth scholarships, mentoring, educational and hands-on programs with our youth, and the tapping into resources to promote volunteerism throughout our community.

Citrus Valley Health Foundation

“Changing lives through visionary philanthropy and
comprehensive, compassionate care”

At the Citrus Valley Health Foundation, our focus is healing and nurturing individuals and families throughout the San Gabriel Valley.  We do it by collaborating with members of the community to sustain Citrus Valley Health Partners and its award-winning, not-for-profit medical facilities:  Citrus Valley Medical Center – Inter-Community Campus & Queen of the Valley Campus, Foothill Presbyterian Hospital and Citrus Valley Hospice.  Setting the standard for high quality, compassionate care across our region, these institutions offer cutting-edge programs and services (such as our newly expanded Heart Center, The Arthur and Sarah Ludwick Emergency Care Pavilion, our cancer services and our renowned Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) that make a critical difference in so many lives.

Casa Colina Outdoor Adventures

Casa Colina Outdoor Adventures is a program that focuses on empowering people with disabilities by creating opportunities for challenging and exciting experiences in the out-of-doors. By focusing on abilities, not disabilities, the program enables its members to experience success both physically and emotionally. This program utilizes the natural world to create unique opportunities where people with disabilities can:

  • Enjoy a sense of community working with others toward a common goal
  • Gain self-confidence by experiencing success through acquiring new skills
  • Share new experiences with people of all abilities

Since 1985 the Outdoor Adventure Program of Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation has successfully and safely provided high adventure experiences to thousands of persons with disabilities. We take pride in providing a program of wide scope and diversity, addressing the interests and needs of these people.
